Fire prevention at your home
- Here are some advices to help you prevent a fire in your home:
- If you are cooking something in the oven, don’t leave it unattended, because if you cook for example with oil it can take fire, but also if you put a towel next to the oven it can burst into flames
- The same thing you should do if you cook outsie with the grill, and after you finished cooking, put some water over it. And also don’t allow your kids to play near the grill.
- If you have young kids, teach them not to play with fire, or with the matches. Just to be sure, don’t leave the matchers and other lighters in a space whre the kids can reach them.
- Now some other advices for the parents: if you smoke, use some fire-safe” cigarettes and always, but always make sure they aren’t lit before dumping them (you can even throw some water in the ashtrays). Speaking of ashtrays, make sure the ashtrays are solid and deep,so the wind can’t handle the cigarettes. The same rules apply eve if you smoke outside.
- If you like using candles, put them in proper candle holders and neve leave them light if a person isn’t in the room. I the person is leaving, he can simply blow the candle.
- Call someone speciliased to clean the fireplace and furnal every year
- If you are using heaters to make warm in the room, be sure to put them at distance from anything that may ignite, like curtains. Of course you should turn them off if you aren’t goinf to stay to watch over the heaters.
- Buy a glass screen to put in front of the fireplace ans also don’t put things that can ignite near it
- It is also best to not keep any inflamable product in our home, like gasoline for example. If you need to have it, make sure you have a proper container to deposit it. Also make sure the kids haven’t got the chance to play with the gasoline or other inflamable products
- Also you may need to pay atention to the electrical stuff in your home, because they can cause fire too, like for example a socket that is overloaded or use extension cords with your electronicals. Also amke sure that the TB has enough soace surrounding it, so it can’t overheat.
